Background
It was a very early October morning driving down a rutted dirt road searching for black bears in one of the best locations in the country to photograph them. As we drove along, we noticed a bear popped up and took a quick look around. We pulled over to get out of the car and wait to see if she’d do it again. Sure enough, 10 minutes later, she popped up again and I took this image.
