Background
It was a very foggy Teton morning in October 2023 as we made our way towards willow flats in Grand Teton National Park in the search of Grizzly Bears. We had a good bit of luck finding them up to this point as they’d been out foraging in advance of their upcoming winter nap. As we made our way near Oxbow Bend, the fog was thick and I started to doubt that we’d be able to even find bears, let along photograph them. As we neared Jackson Dam, we noticed a number of cars parked and we decided to walk down along the Snake River and found a number of photographers there waiting. Grizzly 610 and her three yearly cubs had been spotted on the other side of the river and it was thought they would be making a crossing soon. I started to walk closer to a better vantage point and then suddenly she appeared from the fog with her cubs and started to cross the river. I quickly setup and started firing frames of this amazing sight and captured the image in this print.
